Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen Soletrader Pat On The Back was Best in Show at Helsinki Winner 2024. The dog is owned by Anders Tunold-Hanssen and Sara Robertson from Norway. Best in Show judge was Leif-Herman Willberg from Norway.

More than 7,000 dogs took part in the shows, 820 of these competed in Helsinki Winner Puppy Show.

Best in Show Veteran was Spanish Waterdog Aquacrest Magic Mike, owners Noora Haapanen, Päivi Uurtola-Kahri and Katariina Kahri. The Best in Show Veteran competition was judged by Torbjörn Skaar from Sweden. Best in Show Breeder’s group was Eija Nurmela and John Nieminen‘s Big Paw’s Miniature Schnauzers, judge was Elina Haapaniemi.

339 breeds from 18 countries entered to the shows

339 different breeds were represented at today’s show. Most dogs were entered in the breeds Labrador Retriever (96), Whippet (83), Dalmatian (81), Cocker Spaniel (72), and Finnish Lapponian Dog (72).

Dogs from 18 different countries participated at the show. Most foreign participants came from Sweden (240) and Estonia (177). Participants with the longest trip to the show came from Portugal.

The last qualifying competition to the Finnish Championship final in Junior Handling was also held in connection with the show. The competition was judged by Heini-Maari Kemppainen. The competitors were divided into two age groups. The winner of the age group for 10–13 year olds was Alise Trauberga, while Anne-Marie Bruvoll Andreassen won the age group for 14–17 year olds. The Best Junior Handler of the Day was Anne-Marie Bruvoll Andreassen.

Only Finnish citizens are allowed to compete in the Finnish Championship final in junior handling. Since the winners of both age groups were from abroad, a separate competition to choose the last finalist was held between the best Finnish competitors. This competition was won by Roosa Kangasniemi, who was placed fourth in the age group for 14–17 year olds.

Australian shepherd from Estonia Best in Show at the puppy show

Helsinki Winner Puppy Show with more than 800 entered puppies was also held today at Dog Fair Finland. Judge Harri Lehkonen chose Australian Shepherd One In Milion Di Casa Sant’anna as Best in Show. The dog is owned by Kristiina Tupalskaja from Estonia.

The Best in Show Breeder’s group at the puppy show was a group of American Staffordshire Terriers from Sara Jäntti’s kennel Vienava. Judge was Tuula Savolainen.
