Finland
When I was child, we always had dogs at home: either Finnish Spitz, Karelian Bear Dog or a mongrel. My own breed is Newfoundland since 1979 and the first litter udner prefix Aarnikarhun was born in 1990. Aarnikarhun puppies are exported to many European countries and to the USA. I was qualified to judge in 2002 and besides Finland I have been judging in Austraiia, Italy, Norway, France, Sweden, Denmark, New Zealand and Russia. I have been acting as secretary of the Finnish Newfoundland Club as well as member of the board. At the moment I am vice-chairman of the club as well as the educator for the new judges of Newfoundland. I have always admired all kinds of dogs, never mind the look or size and I wish to give every exhibit a nice experience in the show ring. Despite the qualification in the ring it is always the best dog of the show going home – had been a nice day with other Newfies and their owner – this is what I hope.
