I grew up on my parents’ hobby farm. So keeping animals and breeding was instilled in me from an early age. Since childhood, I have been breeding animals such as chickens, guinea pigs, pigeons, rabbits, birds, sheep… My grandfather bred at top level with the racing pigeons, from whom I learnt a lot. At home, the farm dogs were always my companion. I have been involved in Border Collies for more than 25 years now. I bought my first border collie in 1997. Over the years I participated with my dogs at various disciplines with the main accents on showing and herding. Until 2021 I was breeding and showing border collies under the name ‘Flaxblossoms’. Genetics has always been my field of interest, which was useful in my breeding programme. On 17/01/2014, I was appointed FCI judge for border collies. I have always been very
interested in sheepdogs and cattle dogs, so I started to do more exams in Group 1. Now I am judging almost all breeds in this group and I hope to do more exams in the future. I already judged in several countries such as Belgium, Austria, UK, Finland, France, the
Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, … I am a Committee member of the Belgian Kennel Club, member of the Judges’
Qualification Committee, member Scientific Committee Belgian Kennel Club, member Breeding Committee Belgian Kennel Club, Belgian FCI delegate for sheepherding, , Belgian FCI delegate for the Breeding Commission. Vice-President of the Belgian Border
Collie Club, Chairman of the Breeding Committee of the Belgian Border Collie Club, Chairman of the Show Committee of the Belgian Border Collie Club and organizer of the Border Collie Breed specialty BBCC.
