I’ve been involved in the dog world since 1969. My first dog was a Dalmatian, from which my kennel prefix Caballus also stems from. My first litter of Dalmatians was born in 1971. My breed today is the Curly Coated Retriever. I’ve also owned and bred Gordon Setters and Jack Russell Terriers. I took the judges’ course in 1993 and today, I judge all breeds from groups 6, 7, and 8, as well as some breeds from group 3. I’ve judged in most European countries and also in Australia and the United States, among others. I work as a veterinarian, and I’m specialized in reproduction and artificial insemination. I administer the sperm bank of Vetmasters Oy in Turku, Finland. 15 of the 34 litters of Curly Coated Retriever litters I've bred in the 2000’s have been conceived by artificial insemination. I train and compete with my dogs in hunting trials for retrievers. I do all sorts of outdoor sports; my passions include cross-country skiing and summer hikes in Lapland.
